For my birthday in November, Seth bought me a subscription to the Twisted Shawlette Club (Twisted is a yarn shop up in Portland). I received my first shipment on March 1st and cast-on a few days later on the 4th! I finished this project about a week ago, but it’s been so rainy here that today was the first opportunity I’ve had to get pictures. This knit up super quick, and of course now I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment in May!
Pattern: Springtide by Debbie Stone
Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Seduction (a 50/50 merino/tencel blend)
Modifications: Absolutely none! The pattern was well-written and easy to follow and I love that the center of the garter stitch section of the shawl features a lace panel. It made the knitting interesting without being too fussy.
This was my first time knitting with a merino/tencel blend and I was surprised at how much I liked it! It behaves similarly to merino/bamboo blends and has a lovely sheen and drape to it.
Shawlettes are the perfect spring accessory, aren’t they?
I also have another FO to share that I made for my MIL for her birthday!
Pattern: Cabled Keyhole Scarf by Anne Hanson
Yarn: Three Irish Girls Elenya Alpaca/Merino in I’ve Traveled the World and the Seven Seas
Mods: None! This was a great little accessory pattern that is quick to knit and the result is quite satisfying! I’ve been meaning to knit one of these for some time now, and my MIL’s birthday was the perfect excuse.
I’ve been blogging once a week over on the Stash blog, too…so go check it out!
Have a great weekend!
