Oh yarn and fiber, how I’ve missed you!

I didn’t knit a single stitch while we were on vacation, but I think I’ve more than made up for it over the last few days! I’ve finished a shawl, started and finished knitting a hat, and spun up a skein of yarn. Um, and started another hat….but I only have a half a dozen rows or so done on that one!

Wanna see a little bit? I don’t have good photos of shawl and hat yet, but I do have a little sneak peek of both of them:

More details to come when I have better pictures….but the yarn is String Theory Caper Sock (Merino/Cashmere/Nylon).

Oh, how I love this hat. I decided to give stranded colorwork another shot, and Wow! I’m glad I did. This only took me a day to knit up.

And now for the yarn….which is currently soaking in it’s bath and will hopefully be dry tomorrow so I can use it immediately.

Fiber: Superwash Merino dyed by Two if by Hand in colorway “Whiz Bangs”

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this color. Or colors, I suppose. It’s destined to be socks. At least that’s the plan for now!

And now a project that’s been done for quite some time, but that I forgot to take pictures of before it was sent off to it’s new home.

Pattern: Accidental Girly Mitts by craftyLis

Yarn: Jojoland Cashmere (4-ply)

Modifiacations: I used sport-weight yarn with size 4 needles instead of the dk-weight yarn the pattern called for. I made these for my Mom for her Birthday and finally took some pictures while we were on vacation. The pattern was easy and quick to knit and the result is lovely.

The Jojoland Cashmere has a lovely halo and is unbelievably soft.

I think that’s it for now! Hopefully I’ll have modeled pictures of the shawl and hat tomorrow!
